Conversational “Advice Flashcards” to practice your English skills. This activity is aimed at intermediate and advanced students.

Ways to give advice:

  • You should…
  • I would advise you to…
  • Why don’t you…
  • Maybe you should…
  • I suggest you…
  • I think you should…
  • If I were you, I would…
  • I advise you to…
  • You’d better…

How to ask for advice:

  • What should I do?
  • What do you think I should do?
  • What do you suggest?
  • What would you do?
  • Could you give me some advice?
  • What’s your advice?

How to use this set of flashcards:

The goal of this game is to find out what the problem or situation is written on the card by listening to the students’ pieces of advice.

Put the cards in a pile. A student takes a card, ( without looking at it). The other students tell them what he or she should do about the situation.

Keep giving advice until the student gets the right problem.

Have fun!😍
